Creating a ground-up hotel brand inspired by the historic Spanish mission just down the road.


Inn at the Mission San Juan Capistrano needed its hotel branding to be the continuation of a story long ago, but not a direct copy. It needed to be the yin to the yang.




Like two love birds, the hotel and the mission compliment each other in every way.

Our swallows appear and reappear throughout the hotel, from the staff lapel pins to printed feather patterns.






Furthering this story of discovery, we created a mark that hides the iconic mission bells within a royal mark of the crown.




In the end, we built a brand that celebrates the past while grounded in the discovery of the present and intent on writing future chapters.
